Tenix America's Cross-Domain Solution
Accredited with Highest
Marks from Director of Central Intelligence Directives
Company's
Information Sharing Solution Available for Use
inside Government Organizations with Utmost Security
Confidence
McLean, VA –
July 31, 2007 - Tenix
America, a developer of Commercial-Off-The-Shelf
(COTS) based Cross-Domain Solutions (CDS) for
government and commercial organizations, today
announced it has received the Director of Central
Intelligence Directives (DCID) 6/3 Controlled
Interface accreditation for its cross-domain
solution based on the Tenix Data Diode. The
accreditation, received through the Defense
Intelligence Agency (DIA) is based on an evaluation
of how the solution mitigates against security
threats in three areas-of-concern, confidentiality,
integrity and availability, for which the Tenix solution successfully passed.
“Certifications
and accreditations across the DoD are the best
mechanisms we have to standardize levels of security
and move away from stovepiped systems,” said Mark
Morrison, Chief Information Assurance Officer,
Defense Intelligence Agency. “Tenix’s DCID 6/3 Control Interface
accreditation is a good example of vendors working
with government to ensure that their solutions come
with the Government’s stamp of approval to
transmit highly-sensitive information with
efficiency and security.”
Integrating
third party Commercial-of-the-Shelf (COTS) products,
including content filters and baseline integrity
tools, the Tenix 100MB Data Diode’s File Transfer
Application was accredited as a DCID 6/3 Controlled
Interface. The cross-domain solution was evaluated
on its ability to mitigate against security threats
in three areas-of-concern: confidentiality,
integrity and availability, for which the Tenix
solution successfully passed. The accreditation
assessed the sensitivity of information that is
being transmitted, the degree of resistance to
unauthorized modification of information maintained
and the degree of ready availability required for
information in order to accomplish the mission at
hand, respectively.
Tenix’s Data Diode uses a systems
architecture and solutions approach that allows
military, intelligence and homeland security
organizations to analyze and share data safely
across classified and unclassified networks.
“On
the heels of Presidential mandates and government
initiatives aimed at ensuring that sensitive
information is not compromised, Tenix has made it a
priority to provide effective mechanisms for
organizations to access the information they require
whilst maintaining the confidentiality of their
classified data,” said Ken Kellstrom, vice
president and general manager of Tenix America.
“With this accreditation, Tenix now provides
end-users with complete turn-key solutions to meet
their operational responsibilities and also address
the government’s stringent security certification
and accreditation requirements.”
In
2005, Tenix was the first and only company to be
awarded a Common
Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL)-7 certification
for its cross-domain solution from the U.S. National
Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), the
highest in the world to date.
NIAP
is a U.S. Government initiative that works in
collaboration with the National Security
Agency (NSA) and the National Institute of Standards
and Technology (NIST) to meet
the security testing needs of both information
technology consumers and producers for the
Intelligence community.
Coupled
with the DCID 6/3 Controlled Interface
accreditation, Tenix is now one of only a handful of
NIAP-certified vendors able to solve the challenges
of effective information sharing, collaboration and
integration, which is fundamental to effective
performance across the defense and intelligence
community.
