Tenix America's Cross Domain Solution Receives Full Accreditation
Accreditation of Email Transfer and
Data Forwarding Applications Results in Complete
Turn-Key Cross Domain Solution
McLean,
VA – September 10, 2007
- Tenix America, a developer of
Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) based Cross-Domain
Solutions (CDS) for government and commercial
organizations, today announced that its Email
Transfer Application (ETA) and Data Forwarding
Application (DFA) have earned the Director of
Central Intelligence Directives (DCID) 6/3
Controlled Interface accreditation with the help of
third party Commercial-of-the-Shelf (COTS) products.
These accreditations, the second and third the
company has received, mark the full accreditation of
Tenix
America
’s 100MB Data Diode.
“Tenix
America
’s Cross-Domain Solution has come full circle with
these last two accreditations, resulting in a
complete COTS technology,” said Ken Kellstrom,
vice president and general manager of Tenix
America
. “End-users who face stringent security standards
can confidently use Tenix’s solution to ensure
their highly-sensitive information will be
transmitted without compromise.”
Tenix’s
100MB Data Diode Email Transfer Application is used
to send emails with attachments from a low security
enclave to a high security enclave. In conjunction
with Pinnacle CSI, Tenix’s Data Diode ETA can
consolidate a user’s email from multiple security
domains into a single inbox, authorizing the user to
effectively monitor all email from one location.
Tenix’s ETA is also an effective mechanism for
transferring files between security domains,
scanning attachments for malicious content.
The
Data Diode Data Forwarding Application (DFA) was
accredited under the DCID 6/3 Controlled Interface
accreditation from the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA)
together with Air Force Information Warfare Center (AFIWC)
and Northrop Grumman. The DFA transferred multiple
real-time data feeds from a low side network to
a high side network simultaneously with almost
negligible latency.
Tenix’s
Data Diode uses a systems architecture and solutions
approach that allows military, intelligence and
homeland security organizations to analyze and share
data safely across classified and unclassified
networks. The Data Diode’s ETA and DFA were
evaluated on their ability to mitigate security
threats in three areas-of concern: confidentiality,
integrity and availability.
Additionally,
Pinnacle CSI, an IT security engineering firm,
played a pivotal role in the successful
accreditation process by engineering a cross-domain
solution based on the Tenix Data Diode that was
certified and accredited.
“Our
solution is based on the Tenix Email Transfer Agent
that allows users to email information between
networks of differing classifications across the
Tenix Data Diode,” said Chris Wells, Manager of
Business Development of Pinnacle CSI.
“Working closely with Tenix and government
security offices, we engineered, delivered and
implemented the system according to Director Central
Intelligence Directive (DCID) 6/3 and National
Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) 800-53
security directives.”
In
2005, Tenix was the first and only company to be
awarded a Common
Criteria Evaluation Assurance Level (EAL)-7 certification
for its cross-domain solution from the U.S. National
Information Assurance Partnership (NIAP), the
highest in the world to date.
Coupled
with the DCID 6/3 Controlled Interface
accreditation, Tenix is now one of only a handful of
NIAP-certified vendors capable of solving the
challenges of effective information sharing,
collaboration and integration fundamental to
effective performance across the defense and
intelligence communities.
